I just called for a prescription refill from my favorite friend and doctor . I live in Flushing and had worked at the hospital in Nuclear Medicine for many years. I remember when Dr. Skjaerlund joined the staff. She was such a joy and delight ! So much so, that I went to her as a patient. She was kind and gentle and always prayed with me. She told me about how blessed she was with her husband and wonderful children. Whenever I would see her as a patient or as a professional on the floor, I could usually get a fun story out of her about her kids and family. She adored her family !!! That is what I loved about her is that she was so “down to earth “. Last year I went in for another test . She spent soooo much time just talking to me and praying with me. She told me why hadn’t I called her Marcia before now. We talked about everything. She seemed to want to counsel me on any worries. I didn’t know how sick she was. Today, I cried and cried. You see, I lost a wonderful friend, a respected mother, wife and very intelligent Gastroenterologist. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Most sincerely, Suzanne Walker Jones
